Angela's Baby Shower

Yesterday was Angela's baby shower. Everything turned out perfectly. We had lots of snacks, brownies, candy, cake, played games, open presents, played with babies and just enjoyed each others company. Josh brought Matt over towards the end for presents so he could see what they had gotten for baby Katelynne too. The pictures are a little out of order but that's okay.

Now we just have to wait 4 more weeks for baby Katelynne to get here and we can spoil her some more. Can't wait!

The Races

So lately, Josh, my dad and I have been going to the Sprint car races at the Perris Auto Speedway. It is a fun, crazy, adrenaline pumping event that is fun to do on the weekends. It's also fun because we know who two of the drivers are. One is Blake Miller, who played hockey with my brother for a while, and the other is Mike Spencer, Alyson Spencer's brother. They are the top two in point leaders for this year (Mike is #1 and Blake is #2). There are a few more races for the year that we will hopefully be able to make. 

Halloween...Better late than Never

I figured I better post my pictures from Halloween before we enter the second half of November. Josh had to work this year on Halloween so I decided to go trick or treating with Autumn, Hunter, and Wyatt. We had so much fun. I had forgotten how much kids get excited about collecting candy. This year it was ridiculously warm on Halloween. Usually, kids have to bundle up to stay warm but definitely not this year. Here are the pictures to recap our fun evening. 

Adventures in Babysitting

Last Friday night I got to babysit Hunter for Autumn and Tyson. We had a blast. We carved pumpkins, made carmel apples, watched Winnie the Pooh's Halloween, 3 Ninjas, and Hocus Pocus, had goldfish for dinner, fished off the couch, did cartwheels, made silly faces and played with the cats. Hunter is such an awesome kid and so much fun to play with. If I had just a 1/4 of his energy, I wouldn't have to frequent Starbucks as much. Autumn and Tyson have done such a great job raising him. Below are just a few pictures to capture the evening (They are a little out of order, but you get the idea)

An Autumn Evening for Autism

So here is the last of my events from my busy weekend, two weeks ago. I attended a fundraiser for Autism put on by Our Nicolas Foundation, a local foundation that purchases supplies for the local schools' autism programs and puts on other events throughout the year. This event was a silent auction and dinner at Wilson Creek Winery, "An Autumn Evening for Autism". I went with Sunday and Jen from work. We had a blast. The weather was perfect and everything was decorated beautifully with autumn decor. I was able to catch up with parents of my past clients and enjoy hanging out with my co-workers outside of work. I even bid on quite a few items but it was not my lucky night. The grand total of the fundraiser was over $33,000. Very impressive!

It was a great night for a great cause. I cannot wait till next year's event!

Race for the Cure

So, I'm a little out of order on posting my pictures from the weekend events, but at least I am posting them sooner than I normally do. On Sunday my mom and I participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, a fundraiser for breast cancer. They had three different races; we did the 5K. We were amazed at how many people participated. The newspaper said there were 11,000 participants. Can you believe it, 11,000? My mom and I walked in celebration of my Granny B and in memory of my aunt Carol and my cousin Kristen. 

It felt good to participate in such a noteworthy cause. My mom and I decided to make it an annual event and hopefully next year we can recruit more people to walk with us.
