Watch Out Martha Stewart!

So I might have a little bit of the Martha Stewart gene in me. Just kidding! Although, I have been pretty crafty lately. Awhile back, I got the idea that I wanted to add some color to our little living room, that I was a little tired of all the neutrals. So I went to the fabric store and decided to make some pillows. Mind you, I did not have a sewing machine, so I made these little babies from hand. They are finally done and I think they actually turned out okay (just don't look closely at the corners). 

After I had completed the pillows, my grandma gave me her sewing machine and I love it! Now that I have that I decided to be a little bit more ambitious in my sewing creations. Since we are the godparents of Matt and Angela's baby girl (due in December), I thought it was only fitting that I sew her a baby blanket. Big leap from pillows to baby blanket, I know! But I must say it has be turning out okay. See below.

Now I just have to sew the back part on and it should be finished. I can't wait to give it to Angela at her baby shower. I am usually so bad at keeping surprises but so far I haven't let this one go yet (but I did show Matt when he was over to watch football. In my defense he promised not to tell Angela). Once it is fully finished I will post pictures. Once I am done with this, I will have to think of a new project to work on. I thought of curtains for the house but maybe I should wait to we are actual in the house:)

Quick Trip Up North

This past weekend, my parents and I headed north to San Carlos (Josh had to work). My aunt Carol passed away after a long 7 year battle with breast cancer and drove up to attend the funeral and be with family. Carol was a loving and caring person who never once complain. She was crafty, funny, and warm-hearted. She will be dearly missed, especially by her husband, Uncle Tim, and her beautiful children, Timmy and Tammy (one of my flower girls in our wedding). She is in a better place and no longer in pain but she will be dearly missed. 

These are the only pictures I took from the weekend. This was a rest stop of the 5 that had the most amazing fruit/vegetable market and candy and nut shop. There was a little train that went around the whole place, a carousal, and a whole bunch of stuff. We stocked up on candy and snacks and were on the road again. 

Overall, it was a very emotional weekend but it was good to see my Northern California family and be able to catch up with Bear and Breanna. 

Happy Birthday Autumn

Tomorrow is one of my best friends' birthday and since I will not be in town, I am posting a day early. Autumn is one of the sweetest, caring, thoughtful, and hilarious people I know. She is also a wonderful wife and mother. I am so lucky to have her as a friend in my life. Happy 25th Birthday Autumn!! (I know all the pictures are from the wedding but those are the only ones I had on the computer, lots of my Autumn pictures were before digital camera times and are actually printed pictures in a box). Have a great day because you definitely deserve it. Hopefully, little Wyatt will let you get some sleep for your birthday.

Test Shots

We haven't done anything exciting enough lately that I can take pictures of but I desperately wanted to try out the new camera so I turned to my trusty little subjects, Max and Buddy. Except, I don't think they were too happy to have their pictures taken (maybe it's because they were sleeping when I took a couple of these). Anyways, the camera's great and I can't wait to "really" use it.

Back in Business

Yay!! We are back in business. I have a new digital camera. Josh and I went to Best Buy last night after dinner at my parents and did a little shopping. I had been researching different cameras and after talking with my camera expert (Thanks Dana !) and the camera guy at the store, we decided to go with this one (actually, I decided. Josh was looking at TVs and dreaming for the new house). I haven't taken any pictures yet but once I do, they'll be posted (assuming their pictures of something exciting and blogworthy).

Houses and Cats

So I was able to get the last few pictures of my camera, finally! They were kind of random, mainly pictures of the house and our cats. So below is the picture of the house we are in escrow on. It's a little hard to see it because the bushes are super overgrown but it is really 

cute and we love it. We are just waiting to hear when we will have a finally closing date. This is another reason why we have been so busy and my lack of posts lately.

My car looks pretty good sitting in the driveway already. I would post the pictures of the inside but its a little messy and I'll wait to post the "after" pictures once we fix it up. 

Below are just some goofy pictures of the cats trying to both sleep at the top of their cat tower. This is usually Max's spot and he gets so grumpy when Buddy tries get up there with him.

My Digital Camera (December 2005-September 2008)

I am very sad to say that my trusty old digital camera that I got as a college graduation gift has finally taken its last picture. It had been acting up on me for a little while and I thought maybe if I replaced the battery it would work again, but no, it is done. I am super bummed because this camera was so easy to use, I had it all figured out, and it really did take great pictures (even if it was only 5.0 megapixels). So until I can work up my nerve to shell out some bucks to buy a new one, bear with me on my posts. They may have old pictures or no pictures at all. I am trying to get the last few pictures it did take off of it and when I do, I will definitely post them. Until then, that is all for now.
