FIRE Everywhere!

So, its been quite a crazy, hectic and scary week down here in Temecula and San Diego. Fires have been going on since Sunday all across San Diego and we even had one in Temecula and Wildomar. We are going on day 6 of smokey skies and stressful situations. My thoughts and prayers go out to all the families that have lost their homes and the fire fighters that are doing their jobs to protect us. They put their lives on the line to save us. Today, my dad heard that four firefighters that worked at his old station and the captain that took my dad's place when he retired were caught in the fire and were burned. The truck my dad used to drive caught fire also. Two of the firefighters are in critical condition. Please keep them in you prayers.

San Diego

As San Diego tries to recover and things regain some normalcy, please just keep all the firefighters and San Diegans in your thoughts and prayers. We are so grateful for everything we have and this makes me live each day to the fullest.

Little Red Riding Hood & the Big Bad Wolf

Here are our costumes! Josh and I were Little Red Riding Hood and the Big Bad Wolf. I think they turned out great. I had to buy Josh's costume but I made his gloves and my whole costume. Everyone loved them!

Me and Morgan. So Morgan kind of has a morbid sense of humor. Last year he dressed up as Steve Irwin with a sting ray attached to his chest. This year he chose to be the pro wrestler, Chris Benoit, that killed his family and then hung himself. Morgan's costume was complete with the noose and all.


You can't really see it in the pictures, but Morgan had the best mullet wig I have ever seen.

These were the only pictures I took, but these were pretty much the best costumes at the party. There were a lot of generic costumes (clowns, referees, flappers, etc) and even a lot of people in no costumes (who goes to a Halloween party in no costume). We had a great time but we missed Matt and Angela. I think if they had been there we would have had an even greater time. 363 days to think of our costumes for next year!

Pumpkin Carving

So, I've gotten a little behind on my posts lately. School and work have been crazy and my extra time has been going to making our Halloween costumes and baking for the Halloween party that was this last weekend at Morgan and Kristen's. Two weekends ago Josh and I went to Matt and Angela's to carve pumpkins, one of my favorite things about Halloween. I couldn't get Josh to carve one but he did rinse all the pumpkin seeds for us so we could roast them.

We had such a good time. Sadly, our pumpkins have already started to rot and with the horrible dust storm we had yesterday it is a huge mess. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

Our Costumes Have Been Decided

So Josh and I finally came to an agreement on what to dress up as for Halloween and I must say that it is pretty good. However, I told Josh I wouldn't tell anyone what we were dressing up as till the day of Morgan and Kristen's Halloween Party. So, I have to keep you all in suspense till the 20th and I promise I will post pics the day after the party.

Cat Costumes

I found these animal costumes mask things at Target and thought they would be great for Max and Buddy. It took Buddy a little while to get used to it but eventually liked it.


Max never quite got used to it. This was the only picture I got of him with it on before I took it off.

October is Here!

October is finally here! Hooray! October is one of my favorite months because Halloween and it is kind of like a kick off to the holidays. First Halloween, then Thanksgiving, followed by Christmas and lastly New Years. I love Halloween because of the decorations, the pumpkins, and dressing up in costumes. What am I talking about, I love all holidays. I am a kid at heart. So last Halloween, Josh and I dressed up as pirates. The whole Pirates of the Caribbean craze was going on, so I thought I would make us some pirates costumes. I have to say they turned out pretty darn good. People didn't even recognize Josh and I had to wash my hair 3 times to get all the black dye out. Here are some pictures to reminisce.
