Adventures in Babysitting

Last Friday night I got to babysit Hunter for Autumn and Tyson. We had a blast. We carved pumpkins, made carmel apples, watched Winnie the Pooh's Halloween, 3 Ninjas, and Hocus Pocus, had goldfish for dinner, fished off the couch, did cartwheels, made silly faces and played with the cats. Hunter is such an awesome kid and so much fun to play with. If I had just a 1/4 of his energy, I wouldn't have to frequent Starbucks as much. Autumn and Tyson have done such a great job raising him. Below are just a few pictures to capture the evening (They are a little out of order, but you get the idea)

An Autumn Evening for Autism

So here is the last of my events from my busy weekend, two weeks ago. I attended a fundraiser for Autism put on by Our Nicolas Foundation, a local foundation that purchases supplies for the local schools' autism programs and puts on other events throughout the year. This event was a silent auction and dinner at Wilson Creek Winery, "An Autumn Evening for Autism". I went with Sunday and Jen from work. We had a blast. The weather was perfect and everything was decorated beautifully with autumn decor. I was able to catch up with parents of my past clients and enjoy hanging out with my co-workers outside of work. I even bid on quite a few items but it was not my lucky night. The grand total of the fundraiser was over $33,000. Very impressive!

It was a great night for a great cause. I cannot wait till next year's event!

Race for the Cure

So, I'm a little out of order on posting my pictures from the weekend events, but at least I am posting them sooner than I normally do. On Sunday my mom and I participated in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure, a fundraiser for breast cancer. They had three different races; we did the 5K. We were amazed at how many people participated. The newspaper said there were 11,000 participants. Can you believe it, 11,000? My mom and I walked in celebration of my Granny B and in memory of my aunt Carol and my cousin Kristen. 

It felt good to participate in such a noteworthy cause. My mom and I decided to make it an annual event and hopefully next year we can recruit more people to walk with us.

Halloween Party!!!

Here they are! The pictures from the Halloween party last night. Yet again, Morgan and Kristen rose to the occasion. We had a blast as usual. The costumes turned out great, I was Cruella DeVille and Josh was Bulls**t.

Now its time to start thinking of our costumes for next year. And if I am going to sew them again, I better start early because this year I was sewing right up until the moment I left to go down and help set up for the party. Nothing like last minute alterations :) All in all, it was worth it. Can't wait till next year!

Let the Festivities Begin

Its that time of year again, Halloween! Yay!! On Saturday Josh and I and Matt and Angela headed down to Morgan and Kristen's to help decorate for their annual Halloween Party that is next weekend. I also have been frantically trying to finish our costumes for the party. As usual, I'm not going to tell what we are going to be until after the party. 

Below are just a few pictures of the decorations. We made their den into a pirate bar complete with stuffed character from the Pirates of the Caribbean pirates' brethren. These pictures don't even capture the atmosphere of the room. I promise next weekend I will take more pictures of the decorations because they really are awesome. Their whole front lawn is a graveyard and so much more.

We had such a fun night and I am very excited for next weekend. Stay tuned for pictures of all the fun festivities as I have a packed weekend next week. Friday night is the Auction for Autism at Wilson Creek Winery, Saturday-Halloween Party, and Sunday is the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Walk. I will try my best to document all the events for your viewing pleasure :)

Nicolette & Jason's Wedding

Friday night, Josh and I went to my friend Nicolette's wedding. Nicolette and I went to Azusa Pacific together ( she was in the counseling program while I am in the school psychology program). Her and Jason were married at Lake Oak Meadows in wine country here in Temecula. It was a beautiful setting. Her parents and her were brought to the ceremony site in a horse drawn carriage. It was very cool but I am bummed I didn't get a picture of it. The only drawback to the night was it was the first very cold night of the fall season. It was FREEZING!! Luckily, there were heat lamps and these very cool patio tables with fire pits in the middle.

It was such a fun night, minus the fact that it was like -10 degrees (not really, but it was DARN cold). Nicolette was a beautiful bride and these pictures do not do her or her dress justice.
